01 · My story

From Kurukshetra to Nike India

I studied computer applications at Kurukshetra University and took my first Android job in 2019 as an associate developer at Seasia Infotech. My first win there set the tone: moving screens to dynamic layouts cut the time to change the UI by 90%.

Since then I have built apps for Jio and Surfboard, spent two years at Paytm making its POS payments app faster, more secure and ready for metro cards, and was named a Paytm Rising Star in 2023.

Today I'm an SDE-2 at Nykaa, working on the Nike India, Nykaa Fashion and Nykaa Beauty apps and the payments SDK they all share. I care about work that moves a number: cash burn, conversion, battery life, time to ship.

Where I've worked

  1. – Present

    SDE-2 at Nykaa

    • Part of the team that built the Nike India Android app from scratch in a record four months.
    • Work on the Payments SDK used by every Nykaa and Nike India app.
    • Revamped the COD widget, cutting cash burn by 80%.
    • Revamped Rate & Review (+7% rating submissions) and Order Confirmation (+7% cross-selling).
    • Delivered critical sale-event features quarter after quarter to lift user engagement.

    Senior Software Engineer at Paytm

    • Implemented ECR for NCMC transactions, bringing four metro agencies onto the Paytm payments app.
    • Migrated the POS encryption protocol from 2BDK to 3BDK with zero issues.
    • Optimised the system screensaver, improving device battery life by 10%.
    • Built a GPT-based tool that cut POS transaction analysis from two days to seconds.
    • Modularised the payments app, removing one approval step before each release.

    Software Engineer at Mobile Programming LLC

    • Built Android apps for clients including Jio Career and Surfboard Central.
    • Automated data extraction for the ICD-10/11 app: over 100× faster, needing a quarter fewer people.
